Beyoncé
An other-worldly concept for a performance at the United Nations that the world will never forget.
With Beyoncé slated to perform in the United Nations general assembly for World Humanitarian Day, Cactus team members were tapped by Droga5, the agency managing the show, to help create the most fantastical spectacle possible.
We conceived of an eye-popping show backdrop unlike anything the world, (especially the United Nations) had ever seen before. Molded to the unique architecture of the General Assembly Hall, we implemented the largest indoor concave projection screen ever created. This formed the animated backdrop for a live performance of Beyoncé’s “I Was Here,” the adopted anthem of World Humanitarian Day. The music video shot during the show helped the World Humanitarian Day campaign reach over 2 billion people globally while maintaining the integrity of their mission.
Cactus transformed the walls of the General Assembly hall, creating a larger-than-life immersive experience. Recognized as the largest indoor curved projection screen in the world, 10 synchronized projectors were used to support the 240-degree content that wrapped around Beyoncé.
A center piece of Beyoncé’s performance, this canvas immersed the audience in interconnected stories of humanitarian work around the globe, transporting them to desert landscapes, urban centers, and other environments where humanitarian efforts improve lived experience.
Each scene was composited to faithfully depict the look and feel of the country or region it represented. Creating a montage of stunning graphics that celebrate the global humanitarian community.
