Cactus collaborated with MMBB, JPG.ARQ and BEN-AVID Architects to design a structure and courtyard that is entirely encompassed in a sheer translucent fabric. From there, Cactus transformed the pavilion through an intricate system of 140+ projectors, mapped meticulously across a customized 24,800 sq. ft. enclosure that would solve for the multi-purpose nature of the courtyard throughout the end of the day and overnight.
During the daytime, the shaded space is a respite for the heat of Dubai, where visitors can enjoy walking through the shallow reflective pool that’s positioned beneath the enclosure. As the sun sets, the space transforms into the celebration of the complexity and diverse Brazilian landscapes, navigating through cities, forests, canyons and beaches, with the technology map of projectors covering over 60,000 sq. ft with vibrant video.
